Date: Friday 10th March 2023

Venue: Townsville Hockey Association—The Murray Sporting Complex, Townsville

Time: First round of games will commence at 9:00am with presentations at 2:20pm

Cost: $25 per team (Schools will be invoiced for this amount once nominations have closed)

Close of Nominations: Friday 24th February

Other Important Information:

  • Please BYO Marquee to put up for the day on the grass hills overlooking the turfs
  • The canteen will operate throughout the day
  • In most cases, coaches usually umpire their own teams, however high school student officials and THA officials will assist with umpiring. Umpires will be provided for finals
  • The turf will be split quarter fields with boards. Summer hockey rules will apply. E.g. pushing only
  • The structure of games will depend upon the number of nominations received. It is proposed that teams will be split into 2 divisions. The winners from each division will then play each other in ‘Finals’ at the end of the day. The winning school will receive a Perpetual Trophy and team members will receive a prize (TBC)
  • This year we are inviting year 4, 5 & 6 and proposing to have two mixed divisions – A development division (beginners) and an experienced division (students from interschool hockey mixed with some club players). Teams are 6 a-side and we suggest 3 extra for subs. = 9/10 players per team
  • A copy of the draw and the summer hockey rules will be sent out in the week prior to the carnival
  • A qualified First Aid person will be in attendance throughout the day.
