District trials
District trials are conducted to select 12 year and under teams for Townsville district. The district teams participate in the North Queensland trials where students vie for selection in the Northern region team. The regional team competes at the state championships.
2023 girls: interested girls should contact their PE teacher/Sports coordinator to express their interest by Friday 3 March. Girls nominated by their schools will be invited to attend the Peninsula region trials as there is currently no Northern team selected - this information will be emailed directly to parents by the Northern Region School Sport Office.
2023 boys: this year's trials will be conducted on Thursday 9 March (Thuringowa) and Friday 10 March (Townsville). Two teams will be selected.
Only players nominated and endorsed by the school will be eligible for selection. Venue and time information is available from the school. All nomination forms must have the principal's signature on them or students will not be permitted to trial.
Players that attend schools which do not play Australian football are still eligible for selection. Please consider students who may not play Australian football but demonstrate a high level of athletic and sporting ability. A high standard of behaviour is expected of nominees.
Nominations must be scanned and emailed by 4pm Monday 6 March to Robert Lambert at Hermit Park State School rglam0@eq.edu.au
