Football is played in Season 2 with competitions for both boys and girls. Games are played at Brolga Park in the Murray Sporting Precinct.

District trials
District trials are conducted to select 12 year and under teams for Townsville district. These district teams participate in the North Queensland trials where students vie for selection in the Northern region team. The regional team competes at the state championships.
Please note that the boys' trials will be run over 2 days. All boys must attend on Thursday then selected boys will be invited back on Friday for a final trial.
2023: this year's district trials will be conducted on Thursday 27 April and Friday 28 April (only if called back). The girls' trials will be conducted on Friday 28 April only. Nomination forms are available from the PE teacher or sports contact at your school.
Only players nominated and endorsed by the school will be eligible for selection. Venue and time information is available from the school. All nomination forms must have the principal's signature on them or students will not be permitted to trial.
Players that attend schools which do not play football are still eligible for selection. This trial is for students who demonstrate a high level of skill in the sport of football. A high standard of behaviour is expected of nominees.
