Tennis is played in Season 2. Fixtures are played at Townsville Tennis Inc. in North Ward. There are three divisions of competition including A, B1 and B2. This allows players of all abilities to compete.
Combined Townsville/Thuringowa District boys and girls teams are selected each year to compete in the North Queensland District trials, allowing the opportunity for the competitors to vie for selection in the North Queensland team to compete at state championships.

District trials
District trials are conducted to select 12 year and under teams for Townsville and Thuringowa. These district teams participate in the North Queensland trials where students vie for selection in the Northern region team. The regional team competes at the state championships.
Players that attend schools which do not play tennis are still eligible for selection.
Players must wear non-marking footwear and bring their own racquet. A high standard of behaviour is expected of nominees.
